Discussions about ACWM promotion tools

Postby John-ACWM on Fri Jan 16, 2009 3:47 pm

Dear Acwm affiliates,

We would really appreciate your feedback related to our current promo tools and of course opinions about what you consider as useful tools additions for near the future.
We currently work to add full free cam sites – xml driven – easy to customize – free templates will be available as well.
Hand picked categorized photo sets will be available soon. We selected over 700 Xlovecam models, there is a minimum of 10 pics for each photo set – totally over 8000 selected webcams stills.

Post your opinions inside this topic.

Best regards,
ACWM Team

As a new member I've noticed that you don't have that many banners and this is the tool I used the most since I have a banner rotator script on my main portal site which is where the bulk of my traffic comes from. It would be great to have some more animate banners. Thank you. :)

Is it possible to use the Carousel displayed on the bottom of some pages as a promo tool?
One modification to help encourage Surfers to click would be to have the Carousel rotate automatically

Examples:
1) http://www.xlovecam.com/index.php?p=inscription
2) Any online model's Chat Page

On the Promo Tools ==> Text Links Generator page, there is an optional Tracking parameter.

I assume the purpose is to see which promotional tools generate the most traffic. However, the Statistics page doesn't seem to show Promo Tool tracking data.

Hi, Tracking param is appearing in the "Commissions Details" also in the stats xml feeds.

1) I can't comment on tracking data on the stats xml feed because I'm not using xml feeds.

2) Regarding tracking data on the "Commissions Details": This is not nearly as useful as showing tracking on the General Statistics page. Basically, I want to know which Promo Tools are generating the most traffic. This is very valuable to know.

Actual sales (.e., commissions) can be months (or years!) away from the time a Surfer initially clicked on a banner. It doesn't tell me much.

Hello, currently the tracking param is only for sales - this can be used to track which tool is generating more sales - but it won't tell you about the traffic generated by that tool. We will think to such feature on the future system updates, in the mean while you could use your own script to track this kind of information, for example open source OpenX ads script it could be a good tool to track the clicks/impressions on various ads from your site. One openx install I think it can be used in all your sites.

Suggestion for IFrame, Live Chat, and Live Webcam Promo Tools.

Add a "Model Nickname" field that accepts an arbitrary length comma-delimited list of model names (such as, "CandiSoft, Juene, Deborra, etc"

The models on the list of names:
1) Would be randomly chosen
2) Must be online
3) Must have online status = Free Chat (maybe make this a parameter also)

If there isn't a sufficient number of models on the list that fit the conditions above, then other models will be selected as is done currently

===============================
Second suggestion for Live Chat and Live Webcam Tools:
Add a field to enable/disable sound. Let the Surfer enable sound.

1) The tracking parameter indicates which ad tool is generating sales ONLY if a single ad is being used. In which case, there is no need for a tracking tool to begin with. As currently designed, the tracking stat is useless.

2) Regarding the "OpenX" ads script you suggest I use:
a) It won't tell me which ad tools also result in Free Sign Ups
b) I don't see why each of your affiliates should need to add this third-party tool to fix a deficiency in your tool. It seems to me the smarter move would be for you to fix your tool.

3) It's been two months since I requested this feature. How much longer, if ever, will this take?

Look, I'm trying to help make money for us both. Give me the tools/features with which to do this.

Hello,

There is always place for improvements in any tracking system, there is nothing to fix as it is not broken, we will certainly improve - add more features and details over time but we have to prioritize tasks in a way or another.

As soon as I have more info about advanced tracking of free signups and traffic I will let you know.

Thank you for your suggestions.

Surfer can enable disable sound in the Live chat Tool, also affiliate can choose the default sound volume of the tool in the generator (0-100)
Live Webcam Tool doesn't have sound by default (this is the way it was designed)

Live Chat Prmo Tool Suggestion

Postby sabaidii2 on Thu Sep 22, 2011 10:45 pm

Currently, the Live Chat promo tool has a "Sound Volume" parameter that operates as follows:

If Sound Volume > 0 (20, 40, 60, 80, 100), Live Chat is displayed with the sound level as specified PLUS a disable/enable sound button.

If Sound Volume = 0 (i.e., No sound), Live Chat is displayed with no sound and NO disable/enable sound button.

Suggestion
Add a related parameter, "Default Sound", which takes two values: on/off

Live Chat will be initially shown with the sound on or off according to Default Sound at the Sound Volume parameter's value.
Additionally, always allow the Surfer to enable/disable the sound AND be able to adjust that sound level.

Hello Sabaidii, if Sound Volume is set to 0 by the affiliate in Live Chat promo tool, the visitors will see the sound volume button in disabled mode and they can easily enable the sound by pressing on the button and adjusting the sound at the level they want.

When Sound Volume is set to 0, the disable/enable button is displayed (you are correct). But there is no adjustment slider. This is true whether using Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Chrome browsers.

Example:
http://soapy-massage.com/thai-traditional-massage.html
(Bottom of page - you may need to refresh the page a few times to display a Live Chat ad)

Aha! I finally figured it out! (It's only taken 4 months...)
There are actually two buttons: "Volume" and the Enable/Disable sound icon. The Volume button displays the adjustment slider.

This is a TERRIBLE visual design. Here's why: notice that for the other controls ("Sizes" and "Parameters"), there is only a single button whether the text or the icon is clicked. This is inconsistent, non-intuitive visual design. (Apple would never make such a mistake)

The simple solution is to somehow indicate that there is, in fact, two distinct buttons: "Volume Adjustment" and "Enable/Disable Sound".

Hi, I think that 99.9% of the visitors will first click somewhere in the middle of the button and normally they will see the slider... just out of curiosity I asked a friend not familiar with Xlovecam live chat to lower the sound volume, he found the slider in less than 10 sec.. why it took you 4 months? I really don't know...Personally I think it’s intuitive enough and not “terrible” as you say, it could be improved maybe by showing the volume slider on mouse over volume button, I will propose it for a future update – but personally I think it doesn’t need a change for the time being.
