Searching for Love

Postby sabaidii2 on Sun Jun 12, 2011 5:26 pm

Scenario:
A Surfer is "in the mood" for love with a specific model (who he has not marked as a Favorite).

Problems:
1) The "Search" box is very small. It needs to be made larger / more prominent.
In fact, all the filtering selections should be displayed using larger font, a brighter color (say, white), and rendered in BOLD.
a) Place the word, "Search" below the box (so that it looks like a button)
b) Make the Search field a bright color to make it noticeable. Maybe fill the field with "Model Name" so that the Surfer knows what to input.

2) If the "Online Models" page is displayed, the Search function will only find models who are online. This is wrong. The Search function should always look for all models - regardless of their online/offline status.

Hello again, thanks for your suggestions.

A surfer can’t add a model to Favorites unless he is a member and if so he is probably familiar with our navigation and filtering system.

About the way we show the search box, style of filter links etc – as I know – multiple variants were tested before choosing this one, we tried also with bolder links it didn’t looked very well.

About finding the search box, I don’t know if we have to try with a larger version or not – the design is simple and clean and it should be a matter of few seconds at max to spot the filter menu with the Search field in the top of it. I think you are right about the text we are using in the search field, something like “Search by model name” would better explain our current search logic.

About point two, surfer can go to the All Models page and look for his favorite model in the full database. Having the search for all models in the online models page, personally I don’t see it as a good idea, from multiple points of view – one would be that visitor is expecting an online model if he perform the search on the online models page.
